When You Come | final version
translated poem:
Όταν θάρθεις
-
Γιάννης Τόλιας
When You Come
When you come
I will stifle the lights and the hours
Leave only a mauve aura
Illuminating your eyes
I will look at you stone-still
Bleeding jasmine and summer
You won't speak
Our glass brimming
With an infirm memory's aroma
Us drinking from it endlessly
To the glory of corruption
When you leave
I plead with you
Do not give me back my eyesight.
When you come
I will stifle the lights and the hours
Leave only a mauve aura
Illuminating your eyes
I will look at you stone-still
Bleeding jasmine and summer
You won't speak
Our glass brimming
With an infirm memory's aroma
Us drinking from it endlessly
To the glory of corruption
When you leave
I plead with you
Do not give me back my eyesight.
