The Condemned

In the lake of broken expectations
there drowned hatred, inequity and aggression.
In the valley of the deepest threat
there were found nightmares never heard

A man called Good Sense ordered signs
saying to avoid those dreadful surrounds.
But no one has ever listened to him
and after the visit – has never been seen

The ones who ventured to swim in the water
began to abhor one another.
They fondly believed each one is superior
until their deep faith left them delirious

Hate, injustice and deep dander
let them express nothing but anger
so when they once felt like saying love,
they suddenly gagged and choked

Each one believed to be head above
but when they died, they were all alone,
they all felt the same and it was sorrow
and not even a hazy promise of tomorrow

The valley visitors suffered even more
when they exposed a dire horror.
As they crossed the dell’s border,
they knew they went down with a mental disorder

They knew about their poor psychic health
and were aware there was no one to help,
For they were feeling dead weak-minded,
their utmost anguish fairly expanded

Every time when one had a sick thought,
their sane part of mind clearly said not,
so they spent their days in between,
living the saddest of all dreams

The condemned knew full well
their previous deeds led them to hell,
their vicious droughts and hateful thoughts
were a highway straight to the dell

And from the dell there was no return
There were only madmen and their doom.

So no matter where you want to dart,
you won’t see anything through your
darkest heart

I am so grateful for what you have said!

My rating

An exceptionally deep and thoughtful poem about the sadness spread by Man because of wrong attitudes and lack of morality in this World which could have been a much better place for all.
