Our Strange World
The blind can hear
And the deaf can see
Thieves can prosper
While the virtuous suffer
Short people reach heights
While the tall sink low
The beautiful appear despondent
While the unattractive look radiant
The lame could go far
While the able stagnate
None would go wrong
Where hope’s still strong
And the deaf can see
Thieves can prosper
While the virtuous suffer
Short people reach heights
While the tall sink low
The beautiful appear despondent
While the unattractive look radiant
The lame could go far
While the able stagnate
None would go wrong
Where hope’s still strong

thanks for your comment. Yes, there is lack of clarity and I would appreciate it if you could have a go at replacing the last 2 lines. I suppose what I was trying to say is that hope can distort realities. Our Strange World
Good readBut the penultimate line left me dangling…were the images in previous lines wrong? Or are you implying that none of these need to happen if there's hope?
Or should the the last two lines be in their own verse ?
Cheers
