Don't say it won't be any better,
it's only this lonely autumn,
they will soon visit you in crowds again,
and the dogs will bark for you more often.

Do not worry you walk much slower,
they will put you on a wheelchair all right,
and someone will go along with it
and the dogs will bark for you longer

Then they will turn round the spinning-wheel,
and the last handful of people will disappear.
No! It can't be any worse
when even the dogs will get fed up with it all.
