I fell for you
Even before you knew me
Still embraced by a landscape of dream
Swaddled in your woolen sweater
Stirring on the bed of tiny shells.

Later,
after vows were exchanged
during edible-musical feast
You were the one
who fell hard
But it was "off" and not "for"
unruffled,
you springed back like a gymnast
still gracefully giving directions.

My heart leaped then
I fell even harder for you

And even though I should have,

I couldn't just let it go

I couldn't just let you go

I couldn't

And the other one
just kept crying
And lying about why I left
Being furious
For the answer
Was simple

I left

Because I have fallen for you.
