A fool I was
Trudging back after a soccer match
Head hung low dejected and with slouch
A disabled man in a wheelchair goes past
A blind man with a stick smiling, not downcast
A homeless man sat with a hat for a donation
A tremulous Parkinsonian struggled with no agitation
A pigeon drops white stuff on my clean Nike
Anger overcomes me and I curse mighty
Suddenly my mood changes, I feel humbled
Such a blinkered fool to have grumbled
To think that the world was unkind to me
A mere soccer match, so trivial now I see
Head hung low dejected and with slouch
A disabled man in a wheelchair goes past
A blind man with a stick smiling, not downcast
A homeless man sat with a hat for a donation
A tremulous Parkinsonian struggled with no agitation
A pigeon drops white stuff on my clean Nike
Anger overcomes me and I curse mighty
Suddenly my mood changes, I feel humbled
Such a blinkered fool to have grumbled
To think that the world was unkind to me
A mere soccer match, so trivial now I see
