Golf wonders and woes

My good friend Jack
He has this knack
At the tenth, it's the ditch
A par three, turns a nine hitch
But thank goodness,
this little stutter
He takes it with laughter!

Jack loves this game
He gave it a name
Golf it is called
Don't be appalled!
Invented in Scotland
Now grips whole Nations
Despite trials and tribulations

Grown Men
Are they sane?
A little white ball swinging and driving
Now and then, a bit of swearing
The crack of a clean hit
The silence breaking
With a shout of 'fore'
They move with a roar

A pitch and a chip
with many a slip
planning their putt
intent and hot
and when it goes in,
The happy wide grin
arm raised aloft,
breaks into a trot

Golf has come to stay
Whatever they may say
The old and the young
The famous and the unsung
Warm and cold climes
good times and bad times
the little known and the famous names
Long live Golf, the King of Games

@Caveman1

Thus it's writ
that not being Brit
is no big deal
On the contrary
it is no mystery
you're better I do feel.

My comment

As I (being non-Brit) don't follow the rules of golf or polo
I still prefer VW golf or VW polo - driving solo
