Are we one or many selves

Now that I know what you meant
When you said what you said
I wish I were wiser and listened
to my wiser inner voice
Not my other foolish inner voice.

This sounds like conflicting nonsense
But for many of us
Different inner voices make sense
Many voices within ME with different messages
Although I believe there is only one unique SELF.
