Tropical wonder

A blinding flash
bright white World
figures in silhouette
alive but statuesque
darkness returns
Rumbling exploding thunder
scuttling and rustling
cacophony of scared creatures
rushing without meaning

Eerie silence returns
something moved and paused
another pulsating flash
darting creatures
frightened, fleeing
Another loud clap
Sheets of rain
smell of virgin forest
Darkness returns

The patter of rain
on the leafy canopy
loud at first,
soothing, calming
then fainter and fainter
a trickle of soft movement
settling creatures
Silence reigns
All is well

It appeals to senses!

The power of this poem lies in the precise, vivid sensual detail. It is related to senses: of sight,of hearing, even of smell. The poem starts off with flash and thunder, ends with silence and the words;"all is well", it even ends well...Congratulations! Caveman
