Bye Polar
The sky was a flaming orange
the sun was sinking gracefully in the horizon
flocks of birds flying in ever changing formations
the waves lashing on the rocks
the sea spray a riot of glistening pearls
the restless sea now calm, now angry
the beach was empty
I walked alone
My shadow long and dark on my side
tears streaming down my face
I lifted my head with eyes shut
the strong wind rushing around me
pushing my hair back in fluttering waves
I felt abandoned
My heart was heavy
I felt so empty
I saw no meaning
I saw no purpose
I was so alone
Just a week ago
I was jubilant
I was ecstatic
life was joyful, too joyful
Now the world is gloomy
Now life has no meaning
Ups and downs for so long
I feel so alone
Drugs and therapy galore
I can't take it any more
I stand at the edge of the cliff
the wind howling past my ears
I need to escape
the sea below beckons me
Good bye World, good bye
