He came from distant Brussels
with a reputation for principles
Punctuality his forte
though a little bit haughty

He was afflicted with cancer
Becoming frailer and weaker
Given just three months to live
Became exhausted, nothing left to give

Exactly three months to the day
His flame of life ebbed away
